We're so excited to have the opportunity to freedom dream and share community, food, and music with Communities United for Restorative Youth Justice (CURYJ), a youth justice organization founded and directed by CJI Circle Member George Galvis, on Friday, August 19th 7pm-9:30pm in Oakland.
For 15 years, the Criminal Justice Initiative (CJI) has been enacting a vision of justice through what we fund as well as how we fund. This vision includes all of us bringing our resources to support a vision articulated by those most impacted by the criminal justice system leading a movement for all of our humanity and justice.
CURYJ embodies the visionary leadership, holistic analysis, transformative approach, and unstoppable movement building that CJI values in its funding of this movement. We're coming together during CJI's political education meeting to dream of the futures we want to see for our communities and reflect on how we embody that vision in the way we do the work now. We want to raise $30,000 in honor of CJI's 15th and CURYJ's 5th year. Please join us and support the work by donating on the event page if you can't make it in person!
